M-7 Technologies, based in Youngstown Ohio, was launched in March of 2004 to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product and service quality, and to reduce the cycle time required to manufacture or repair heavy industrial products through the application of digital data base technology and advanced measurements systems.
Originally founded in 1918 to produce bronze castings for the U.S. steel industry, M-7 has transformed itself to include a 46,000 square foot, state of the art manufacturing and R&D facility.
Present industries served include the advanced energy, aerospace, environmental, petroleum, construction, fabrication, defense, automotive, material handling, and heavy industrial markets. M-7 is capable of manufacturing parts and assemblies up to 100,000 pounds with accuracies of +/- .0005″.
M-7 was recently awarded a sub-contract from the Army Research Lab to participate, as the lead commercial entity, in the creation of The National Defense Center of Excellence in Industrial Metrology and 3 Dimensional Imaging Research. M-7’s present areas of research are the obstacles to broad scale adoption of laser and sound based geometric measurement data bases. This includes data acquisition, processing and application using advanced hardware and software systems.
M-7 holds a seat on the ASTM E-57 Standards Development Committee – 3 Dimensional Imaging Systems.
